The new Black Box range of intelligent power distribution units
give you the ability to manage all your power requirements from the
comfort of your desk. These PDU's have an IP browser interface built-
in, allowing the user to switch on, switch off or power cycle each
socket individually. Featuring both serial access as well as IP access,
these PDU's give you the connectivity and control you need. But more
than that, these PDU's also feature real time power usage display
through both the built-in LCD screen via push buttons, and via the web
browser interface. Information on voltage, current drawn etc is
available on a per port, and a per PDU basis. This information can really
improve capacity planning with in both the individual cabinet, and
throughout the entire data centre, simplifying the process of ensuring
adequate power supply and also providing remote access. By
employing a user configurable time delay per port, a PDU can
intelligently avoid brown-outs and black-outs. This feature can also be
used to provide power sequencing to a cabinet or rack.
Security
To reassure the data centre manager, access to the web browser
interface is protected by 256-bit AES encryption and strong passwords.
These PDU's also support advanced external permission management
by employing LDAP/S, RADIUS, and Active Directory
®
, where required.
The browser interface supports HTTP, HTTPS, IPMI, SMASH-CLP, SH,
Telnet and SNMP.
